The Midterm Exams are approaching; below you will find the exam schedule and scope. 

Please remind your child to review the vocabulary and reading stories listed in the test scope.

• Listening Exam: Wednesday, 04/09

• Oral Exam:

◦ Tuesday, 04/08

◦ Thursday, 04/10

◦ Friday, 04/11

• Written Exam: Tuesday, 04/15 

LISTENING:

• Vocabulary Focus: Weeks 1 to 7 (Communication Book)

• Reading Street Stories:

◦ Red Kayak

◦ Thunder Rose

◦ Island of Blue Dolphins

◦ Listening Skills:

 Listen for words in a sentence; identify pictures by listening; circle the correct word; dictation; story comprehension; vocabulary words for spelling short vowel VCCV, VCV words, long vowel VCV words, long vowel digraphs, and endings –ed and -ing. 

ORAL EXAMS: Story telling with a puppet show. 

WRITTEN EXAM:

• Vocabulary Focus: Weeks 1 to 7 (Communication Book)

◦ Island of Blue Dolphins

• Phonics: Vocabulary words for spelling short vowel VCCV, VCV words, long vowel VCV words, long vowel digraphs, and endings –ed and -ing

• Grammar Focus: Four types of sentences, subjects and predicates, independent and dependent clauses, as well as compound and complex sentences.
